Our Global Vision
Global Wheelchair Basketball is committed to expanding inclusive wheelchair basketball globally, beginning in Africa, by working in partnership with national organisations, governments, schools, communities, and disability organisations.
Through international collaboration, we aim to create sustainable programmes that provide people of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to participate, compete, and thrive.
Our focus is on removing barriers to participation, promoting inclusion, developing athletes, and strengthening wheelchair basketball across Africa, with initial programmes in Nigeria, Ghana, and The Gambia, before expanding into additional partner countries around the world.

Our Global Approach
We work alongside local partners to build strong, sustainable wheelchair basketball programmes that meet the needs of each country.
Our approach includes:
- Developing partnerships with national federations, disability organisations, and community groups.
- Supporting athlete, coach, referee, and volunteer development through education and training.
- Expanding grassroots participation through schools, clubs, and community programmes.
- Improving access to sports wheelchairs, equipment, and accessible facilities.
- Organising international coaching exchanges, tournaments, and development camps.
- Promoting disability inclusion through awareness campaigns and advocacy.
- Supporting clear athlete pathways from beginner participation to international competition.
- Sharing global expertise, resources, and best practice to strengthen local capacity.

Creating Lasting Impact
Our ambition is to leave a lasting legacy in every country where we work.
By investing in people, partnerships, and inclusive sport, we aim to:
- Increase participation in wheelchair basketball.
- Create equal opportunities for people with and without disabilities.
